Urbanizations

The villas or residential zones (Spanish “Urbanizaciones”) are outside the city centers. In Marbella located on both sides of the village around 12 km of each side.

Building in such urbanizations requires a license from the municipality. Conditions have to be fulfilled regarding the infrastructure and utilization, for which the developer is responsible i.e. roads, lighting, sidewalks, sewers, water and power lines, etc. .In addition, there are regulations regarding minimum plots, exploitation, border clearances, etc.

Hacienda Las Chapas

Hacienda Las Chapas is one of the most elegant residential areas, about 10 km east of Marbella, with the best infrastructure and many year-round residents. The urbanization has 24 hour security service and is just 25 minutes from Malaga International Airport away. The exclusive residential area is located near beautiful sandy beaches, various renowned star hotels, exclusive beach clubs, restaurants, shopping facilities and golf courses. The marina of Cabopino is nearby. Three of the best known international schools on the Costa del Sol are not far away: Englisch International College, German School and Colegio Ecos.

Marbesa

Marbesa is a wonderful, long-established and quiet beach urbanization about 10 km east of Marbella and just 25 minutes from Malaga International Airport. Marbesa is known for its villas and apartments, but also for its charming beach restaurants and attractive sandy beaches. Due to its proximity to the beach, its international schools, its shopping facilities aned its many year-round residents the demand by Europeans in Marbesa is very high.

Elviria

Elviria is a popular residential area which is about 8 km east of Marbella and just 25 minutes from Málaga International Airport. Some of the best international schools are located near Elviria, such as The English International College, the German School and Colegio Ecos. The area has numerous restaurants, supermarkets and entertainment programs. The following golf courses are very conveniently located because they are only a few minutes drive away: Santa Maria, Marbella Golf Country Club, Santa Clara and Golf Rio Real. Elviria has wonderful sandy beaches and charming beach restaurants and the famous Nikki Beach is located directly next to the 5 star luxury Hotel Don Carlos.

El Rosario – Las Chapas

El Rosario – Las Chapas is a residential area east of Marbella and it is surrounded by golf courses and beautiful green landscape. El Rosario is located just 6 km from the center of Marbella and 30 minutes from Málaga International Airport. Good infrastructure, many year-round residents, cozy restaurants, tapas bars, international schools, supermarkets and several golf clubs distinguish El Rosario. The famous El Casco Tennis Club has four tennis courts which can be used throughout the year. Las Chapas is the beachside urbanisation of El Rosario: It has wonderful beaches with typical chiringuitos and bars. In the immediate vicinity is the Hospital Costa del Sol with its international doctors.

Los Monteros and Bahía de Marbella

Los Monteros is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the best beach location of Marbella and is located about 4 km east of Marbella and just 30 minutes from Málaga International Airport. Los Monteros is known for its large and luxurious villas, beautiful sandy beaches and 24-hour security service. The famous 5-star + luxury + hotel Los Monteros with its stylish beach club La Cabana is known for good service and entertainment. Several renowned golf courses are nearby as well as international schools and the Costa del Sol Hospital with international doctors. Several tennis courts are part of the urbanization. Demand for housing is rising steadily in Los Monteros, free plots are very rare, and properties in this area are not often on the market. The adjacent newer and very nice residential area of Bahía Marbella also has a 24-hour security, and there, too, are villas and apartments, townhouses and penthouses as well as beach bars and restaurants.

Altos de Los Monteros

On the opposite side of the coast road above Los Monteros and Bahía de Marbella is the new residential area of Altos de Los Monteros with apartment complexes and villas, equipped with the highest quality and offering phenomenal panoramic views to Gibraltar and Africa.

Rio Real

Rio Real is a suburban residential area, only about 2 km east of Marbella, which was built around the exclusive “Rio Real Golf Course”, about 35 minutes from Málaga International Airport. In this area you will find elegant villas as well as exclusive and neat and luxury apartments and penthouses. The Rio Real Hotel, a small top-star hotel is located in the middle of the complex and has 29 suites and exclusive golfsuites and a spa area. The “Rio Real Golf Course” is an 18-hole golf course with club house. The mature golf course is very popular and runs to the beach with wonderful views, manicured trees and palm trees, lots of shade, with lakes and a river, which increases the difficulty.

Sierra Blanca, Camoján, Altos Reales und Hill Club

Also called Golden Mile

Sierra Blanca is the most luxurious and elegant suburban area located in Marbella, with 24 hour security at the foot of the local mountain “La Concha”. Thanks to the beautiful villas and elegant flair of the urbanization, it is also known as the “Beverly Hills” of the Costa del Sol. Sierra Blanca is home to private villas and some very exclusive apartment complexes with apartments and penthouses. Golden Mile

The famous ‘Milla de Oro’, Marbella’s Golden Mile is probably the most sought after location on the Costa del Sol. San Pedro
